Rehearsals are held a few weeks before the show. It is important for all students to attend these rehearsals to give them the opportunity to practise with the other dancers. This helps to alleviate worries especially in the younger children when they get to the Theatre as they have seen the other students before.

These are not scheduled unless needed. The Ballet Academy realises that everyone has other siblings/activites/family life that are also important, so rehearsals are only scheduled if we know they are required.

There will be no Saturday classes on the day of Rehearsals.

Please arrive 5 Minutes prior to you child's rehearsal time so that they can use the bathroom and are ready to begin at their allocated time. This will help to keep the day running in a smooth and timely manner.

Rehearsals may be held in different locations, due to the size needed when everybody is dancing. Please check your Rehearsal Schedule to ensure you come to the right place.
Parents are not required at the rehearsals, please drop off your child as you would for their normal class wearing their normal dance uniform.

First Rehearsal

Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th September

This rehearsal puts all the different groups together to form the show.  The rehearsal stops and starts while the students get used to dancing together as a team.

Please wear normal dance uniform - including dance shoes and hair up.  No Stage Makeup required.  Please bring a packed morning tea/water bottle if staying more than one hour and a packed lunch/water bottle if staying for both Act's Rehearsals.

Please note:  There will be no Saturday classes held on Saturday 23rd September as students will be required at rehearsals instead.

This is where we run the show straight through to find out if there are any problems to be sorted out.  It also gives the students a feel for how the show will run as there are no stops.

Please wear normal dance uniform - including dance shoes and hair as for classes.  No Stage Makeup Required.

Please Note:  Tutus & Tiaras (both 3yrs & 4yrs classes) will not be needed for this rehearsal.

Saturday 28th October

Please wear normal dance uniform - including dance shoes and hair as for classes.  No Stage Makeup Required for rehearsals, however if it is easier to apply it before rehearsals and then leave it on until the show please do so.  I leave it to each parent to decide which way would work better for their family.

If your child has become unwell and will not be able to dance in the show, please text Melissa ASAP on 021 707 783.

Your child will need to be at the Theatre 10mins before their rehearsal starts to check in at the stage door.  Please make sure they have gone to the toilet when they arrive and are changed into their uniform including dance shoes if applicable.
